Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! I hope all of you have a great day and you are surrounded by those you love and who love you!

The Melting Pot...

For Valentines Day we went to the Melting Pot last night. It was SO FUN! If any of you haven't been there we strongly recommend it. It was so good, and it was such a fun experience, perfect for Valentines Day!

Rorey

This is our new dog Rorey. She is a cocker spaniel and she is two months old. She is a great addition to our little family and needless to say Thatcher is obsessed with her! He follows her around and she chases him and since we got her he hasn't had a dull moment. It is so fun to watch. She is a really good dog, and she is so cute. Thatcher now has someone besides Taggy to boss around, which is really funny. He will say to Rorey, "No No Ruff Ruff", or "No bite!" when she nips at him.
Thatcher and Rorey on the ground. Thatcher loves to get right down to her level to look at her. It is really cute.

Dinner Time!

Dinner time can be hectic at our house. We try to eat all together as a family every night, but some nights we just can't make it because Todd gets home late or Thatcher is too hungry! Taggart is now joining us and eating cereal in his bouncer. In a couple of weeks we will start baby food fruits and veggies...yum!

New Tricks

I thought I would write down some of the new "tricks" that the kiddos are doing now!

Thatcher
The big news is that Thatcher is now climbing out of his crib. When he first starting doing this he really scared me a couple of times! I was used to thinking when he was down he was down! He now comes out of his room probably close to 30 times before he actually goes to sleep (for nap time at least). When he goes to sleep for the night he will only come out probably 3-5 times, and give up and go to sleep. I believe it is because he is so tired from not taking as long of naps anymore! Thatcher is also becoming quite the chatter box. He talks and talks all day. He has learned all of his basic body parts, so we have now moved on to more complex ones like "elbow" "thumb" and "knee". One thing I have noticed about Thatcher, he loves to learn! I will only have to show or tell him something once, and he learns it.

Taggart
Taggy is five months old today! I can't believe how fast the time goes by, I cannot believe he has only been in our family for five months! I don't remember life without him. He is a perfect addition to our little family. Taggy is now sleeping great at night and he takes two pretty regular naps a day. He put himself on this schedule, we were shocked! He hasn't rolled over yet, but rolls from side to side and bats at his play gym. He loves to be held and I find myself holding him on my lap while I type on the computer, play with Thatcher, or watch TV. He, like his brother, loves to laugh. He will laugh and laugh and laugh. Just recently Thatcher has realised for the first time that Taggart probably isn't a pet and has a personality and has started to take interest in playing with him. It still baffles him why Taggart doesn't play back like his friends do, but he soon will find out that is about to change!

"When Hell Freezes Over"

Snow in Tucson? I NEVER thought we would see it. Last Sunday night it snowed three inches in Tucson and shocked us all. This past summer when it was 105 every day I would have loved to see it snow here, and it did! It is a rare occurrence, only happening once in every 5-10 years, but we were lucky enough to see it happen while we lived here. We are enjoying the cool weather now while it lasts!
Snow on a local cactus.
A interesting sight, palm trees with snow on them! Not something you see everyday!
Foot prints in the snow infront of our house!

Taggart Hokie-Pokie

This is something that Todd does with Taggart every once and a while. Taggart just thinks it is SO funny. We laugh pretty hard at his cute smiley face and as Todd says, "turns himself around" Taggy makes a really funny face!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas was good for us this year! It was just our little family and we had a nice day of relaxing, playing with new toys, cooking (that was me!) and eating a great dinner with the missionaries. It was the first time that I made a big holiday dinner by myself that included turkey with all the trimming. It was a nice day and it was wonderful to see Christmas through Thatcher's eyes. It was great. We feel so blessed this year and we are grateful for this time of year when we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was really wonderful for us this year. We drove around to all our friends and delivered cookies and fudge and looked at all the Christmas lights. We had a little program with the traditional Christmas Nativity puppets and Thatcher and Taggart got into their matching Christmas pjs. Todd and I stayed up late helping Santa and then we snapped this picture of the finished product.

Here are Thatcher and Taggart on Christmas Eve wearing their matching pajamas.

Christmas Spirit

People REALLY get into decorating their yards with various lights and blow up figures here in Tucson. Their yards are DECKED out! It isn't my personal taste, but it is fun to drive around and show Thatcher!
I couldn't help but take a picture of this for you Seinfield fans...I can't believe someone put this in their yard!
All of this is in someones front yard! I cannot believe how much "stuff" people put in their yards here for Christmas. You can hardly see their house!

Bragging Rights...

I don't think it is bragging if I brag about Todd, and I know when he reads this he is going to shoot me! :-) Todd this last week found out he got a raise because he has been such a good employee to his company! We are so proud of him!

Rincon's Christmas Party

We went to Todd's Works Christmas party on the 17th. It was held at the Hilton Resort and it was beautiful. There was a buffet dinner and dancing after. It was really fun. Here we are with our good friends the Hills.

Visit to Rhode Island!

Last week the kids and I went to Rhode Island to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Monson and Uncle Jon and Uncle David. It was really fun and we had a great time. The plane rides went pretty well and Thatcher and Taggart were good boys!

While we were in Rhode Island Grandma and Grandpa Monson took us to Chucky Cheese. Thatcher absolutly LOVED it and we had a really good time!
