After a very cold, snowy, and rainy winter,

two little boys and their Mommy had a slight case of what you might call

Cabin Fever...

So,

We spent the last few days away at this little place...

It was a TON of fun.

The boys splashed and played and slid to their little hearts content.

They got tons of energy out.

We got to spend two nights away at a hotel.

We ordered dinner to our room both nights which equals...

no doing dishes by hand and no cooking for me! Yay!

It was a nice break,

and as always so fun to spend time together as a family.

Nothing says Spring like Chocolate and Flowers...

Here is the cake I made last night for our Relief Society Birthday Celebration.

My inspiration is found here.

I changed the recipe around a little bit,

but you better know I kept in the Mascarpone Mousse.

This cake had me at Marscarpone.

VERY rich.

But VERY YUM.

Don't worry, I don't have a cake stand.

This may or may not be a plate turned upside down.

Can't wait to have a house with storage,

where I can have 40 pretty cake stands if I want.

The Birthday Bash...

On Saturday we had a Super Mario Bros. Birthday Party for Thatcher!

It was totally fun and I had a blast putting it all together.

Thatcher is 5!!

I really cannot believe it.

It seems like just yesterday he was this big...

And now here is our big 5 year old boy!

5 is a big year for Thatch.

He goes to Kindergarten this year.

He is totally excited and ready.

Me?...

Not so much.

Whatever.

I won't think about that today, I'll think about that tomorrow.

While the Cat's away...

Friday I had to run some errands and so Todd decided to take the boys ice skating downtown.

When we all got in the car (I was dropping them off at the T station) Tagg said,

"Mommy, you're the cat!"

Ummm what?

I asked him what he meant and Thatcher said,

"While the Cat's away, the mice will play! You are the cat and we are the mice!"

Nice one Honey.

I quickly reminded both the boys and their Dad that if anyone was the cat it was Daddy, and that THE cat was going to be away a lot in the very near future...so he might live to eat those words!

Anyway...
